Topic: Linking from one page to a specific spot on another page

Hello RC folks,

I would be grateful for any assistance with linking to specific points on a page please.

The format of my exposition is that there is a 'map' page with lots of entry points or links to different sections in a 'full' page that contains the detailed text. I'd like to link to 9 different spots within the 'full' page.

Although I have followed the Extended Guide instructions to link from text on one page to a specific point on another page within an exposition, and I have done the 'show current position' and copied that specific URL for each point and used that to link to, it always sends me to the same place on the 'full page' (0 on the x axis and 0 on the x axis). It doesn't seem to want to link to different points within that 'full' page.

Thanks in advance for your assistance,
Louise

H Louise,
Thanks for contacting us!

To link to a specific position.
In the workspace, on the page that you want to link, go to the position that you want to show and click on menu -> "options" -> "show current position"
A new window should appear. Copy the URL shown in this window. Use this URL for the hyperlinking.

Please note that at the moment you are not using these URLs but the URLs for editing the pages.
The correct URLs should look like https://www.researchcatalogue.net/view/ and then numbers. Editors pages on the other hand are https://www.researchcatalogue.net/editor?

Best!
