- because then you could put someone's logo (e.g. your department) in the exposition - with a link to their page, and not risking the reader missing your exposition in the quest for info about your affiliation!

Thanks for the suggestion, we should indeed add this option.

I would prefer to keep "open in same window" as a possibility as well, since there are many expositions which use hyperlinked images to link to other pages within the same exposition, sometimes even locations on the same page.  I think it feels more natural if such links open in the same window.

yes, absolutely, it can be both.
