Topic: Video first frame

Hello,

I have encountered a video first frame issue that has persisted over the last few years since I started using the RC platform. I have upload several videos for which the first frame displayed is never the real first frame. So, I have been painstakingly exporting the first freeze frame of each video to upload as first frame image to ensure that the site visitor sees the visual treatment with lower thirds and graphic design tags as introduction.
I wanted to avoid this extra work of making, uploading and placing the images for each of the 320 video pieces in my archive not only because of the enormous effort and time, but also because this means extra MBs into an already heavily loaded exposition.

Anyone encountering the same problem?
I look forward to an update on this issue.

Thank you!
Vanessa

Re: Video first frame

Hello Vanessa,

thank you for reminding us of this issue! I agree that it would be a lot more intuitive to just have the first frame (or at least have that as an option, if the uploader requires it). We are just about improving the Video Transcoding, so this is actually the perfect moment for us to do something about this. I will keep you posted!

Best,
Casper

Re: Video first frame

Thank you so much Casper! I really appreciate all the work that you do to make the RC even better.
Just FYI, the video first frame appears correctly in the media repository, but once the video is placed in the video tool in the exposition, the first frame appears to be a few seconds into the video.

Best,
Vanessa
